I’m a competitive person and I’m always setting personal goals for myself from running goals to challenging myself with blog goals to challenging myself to be a better person goals. This is something I’ve always done. Now I have an opportunity to share my bold story and be rewarded for it!
My motivation for being bold is the BRING OUT THE BOLD campaign. It has inspired me to jump out of my comfort zone and finally do a LIVE cooking demo, something that I’ve always wanted to do! Of course, Bold has a different meaning for everyone and comfort levels are different for everyone. Running a 10k may be scary for you and to me it’s a several times a week thing. You may be great at public speaking where I almost have a panic attack.
Seriously, I was a committee chair for a non-profit organization and had to give a report every month in front of approximately 100 ladies. Never, not one time was I ever calm, cool, and collected. I don’t suppose I’ll ever get used to speaking in public. One thing I desire to be better at is speaking in public. I always get nervous. My voice gets shaky, my hands get sweaty, I’m a nervous wreck. I have an upcoming blog opportunity to do a live cooking demonstration. This is something I’m concentrating on getting better at.
I’m taking the BRING OUT THE BOLD™ challenge with a live cooking demo. It’s not until later in the year. To prep myself for this, I did a live demo for practice for a few friends that I felt comfortable with. Next, I plan to do it for a little larger crowd. I don’t think you can over-prepare for something like this so I want to get a couple of demos in with friends before the actually blog event.
I found my initial cooking demo experience to be helpful. It actually was educational and I learned a lot from the experience and hopefully, these run-throughs will ease my nervousness at the blogging expo.
