I prefer this basic Pimento Cheese on my burger. This is my grandmother’s classic pimento cheese recipe using processed cheese. It’s smooth and creamy and melts beautifully over a hot burger!

Pimento Cheese Recipe

Processed cheese shreds much easier when it’s very cold! A 8 ounce block of processed cheese will yield just over 2 cups shredded. Use this Pimento Cheese recipe on sandwiches, burgers, as a dip or spread.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounce processed cheese shredded
  • ½ cup mayonaise
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 4 ounces chopped pimentos drained

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized bowl, add all the ingredients.
  • Gently stir together until combined. I prefer to chill it, but you can serve it immediately.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

    I made this today. Thought of my Dad who loved Pimiento cheese so much he made his own homemade. Wishing I could remember the recipe. It was a hit relaxing at the pool on Savoritz crisp crackers as an afternoon snack. So simple to stir up.

    Paula, what a cool post! I love how you guys put pimento cheese on your burgers over there. We always had them on cracker growing up. Now, I’m super excited to put some on a cheese burger! Over here in Utah we do the fry sauce on burgers… ketchup mixed with mayo. Shhh… it’s typically called Utah’s secret sauce. haha.

  5. OMG. I love pimento cheese. And any kind of cheese spread, for that matter. I almost picked up some Cheddar Jack Spread from my grocery store today. It’s similar to Pimento Cheese and it’s darn delicious. Great recipe, Paula! I want some now!
