  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoon all-purpose¬†flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 and 1/4 cup milk or stock
  • 12- ounce package frozen corn
  • 8- ounces sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 roll about 1 and 1/4 cup crushed butter crackers


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. In a medium saucepan melt 3 tablespoon butter
  3. Add flour and cook 1 minute.
  4. Add salt, pepper, onion, and celery seed and stir
  5.  Stirring constantly, add milk or stock and bring to a low boil
  6. Reduce heat and simmer 3 to 4 minutes or until mixture thickens slightly.
  7. Add this mixture in a medium bowl along with corn, sour cream, and cheese. Stir.
  8. Pour into an oven safe dish
  9. Combine 1/4 melted butter and crushed butter crackers.
  10. Evenly spread cracker mixture over casserole.
  11. Bake at 350 degrees F 25 to 30 minutes or until edges are bubbly and crackers are toasted.*See post above for substitution suggestions.
