This old-fashioned Apple Date Nut Bread combines chopped apples, dates, and pecans in a moist, lightly sweet quick bread. It's easy to make and freezes beautifully.

½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
4 large eggs at room temperatrue
½ cup oil
½ tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup self-rising flour sifted
2 cups pecans chopped
8 ounces dates chopped
2 cups apples chopped

Instructions

Coat a 9x9 baking pan with Wilton Cake Release. Preheat the oven to 300℉ for 65 to 75 minutes.

If you use a loaf pan, it may take longer to bake.

Beat together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and oil.
½ cup granulated sugar, ½ cup brown sugar, 4 large eggs, ½ cup oil, ½ tablespoon pure vanilla extract
Add the flour and mix until combined. Stir in the nuts, dates, and apples.
1 cup self-rising flour, 2 cups pecans, 8 ounces dates, 2 cups apples
Pour into a greased and floured pan. Place in the oven and bake for 65 to 75 minutes, or until the cake is firm in the middle.
Let cool completely. Remove from the pan and slice with a very sharp knife.

❄️How to Freeze Apple Date Nut Bread

You can freeze the entire loaf or freeze individual slices.

Cool the bread completely.
Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap.
Place it in a freezer-safe bag or airtight container.
Freeze for up to about 3 months for the best quality.
Thaw overnight in the refrigerator or at room temperature.

My favorite method: Slice the cooled bread before freezing. Then you can remove individual slices whenever you want one.
