Old Fashioned Date Nut Bread

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 large eggs at room temperatrue
- ½ cup oil
- 1 cup self-rising flour sifted
- 4 cups pecans
- 1 pound dates chopped
Instructions
- 9x9 pan 300℉ for 75 minutes
- Beat together th eggs, sugar, and oil. Add the dry ingredients and mix together well.1 cup sugar, 4 large eggs, ½ cup oil, 1 cup self-rising flour, 4 cups pecans, 1 pound dates
- Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan (9x5x3) and place in a cold oven. Turn on the oven to 300 and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until cake is firmin the middle.
- Let cool completely. Remove from the pan and slice with a very sharp knife. Or, wrap and freeze for slicing and serving later. Makes a 3 pound loaf.
