Berry Cream Cheese Cobbler

If you want to get technical, you can consider this a ‘dump’ cake or cobbler. However, I don’t like that term and don’t use it anymore. Instead, we’re going with Berry Cream Cheese Cobbler.

This recipe is one of our favorites because itโ€™s simple and flexible. If you’re short on time, it comes together quickly with only a few ingredients. We also like that you can use any pie filling or berry combo you have on hand.

People like this cobbler because itโ€™s a little bit of everything. It’s fruity, creamy, and crumbly all at once. It is great for summer cookouts, potlucks, or a weekend treat at home. Clean-up is easy, and thereโ€™s no need for extra frosting or toppings.

Pro tip: I always set cobblers and pies on a sheet pan in the oven to cook. They tend to boil over.

Cooking tips and substitutions

To make the topping easier to work with, use a pastry blender to cut the butter into the cake mix while the butter is still very cold. If you donโ€™t have one, a fork will work in a pinch.

You can add crunch to your Berry Cobbler with nuts. I prefer nuts, but any will work. Try 3/4 to one cup of chopped almonds, pecans, or walnuts.
