I made one tiny adjustment to the traditional chocolate oatmeal cookies, but it makes a huge impact in flavor. Chopped Snickers candy bars are the secret-not-so-secret ingredient that takes these from ‘good‘ to ‘omg these are amazing and I can’t stop eating them‘!

PMc says:

Let the cookies cool completely on wax paper or parchment paper before moving them. This helps them firm up and keeps their shape.

I also like to chop a Snickers candy bar and mix evenly through the oatmeal mixture. That way, every bite has a little Snickers in it.

Cooking Tips

When cooking, make sure to bring the sugar and butter mixture to a full boil before adding the oats. This helps the cookies appropriately set and not turn out sticky.

Old-fashioned oats give the cookies a firmer, chewier texture, while quick oats make them softer. Another oatmeal recipe you’ll enjoy is Baked Oatmeal for One.

If you’re short on Snickers, you can use another caramel-filled candy bar or add a handful of chocolate chips or nuts.
