Favorite Homemade Seasonings

These homemade seasonings are way better than the stuff you buy in packets or bottles in the store.

I urge you to try making seasoning blends at home. This way you can control exactly what goes into them. If you’re trying limit salt intake, it’s a must. Once you find the right combination for you, write down exactly what you put into it, and make a lot of it.

These seasonings make great Father’s Day gifts too!

How do I season pork?

For a pork butt that’ll be cooking low-and-slow for hours, add the rub on at the beginning and let sit for up to 3 hours. For a pork chop or something that’ll be on the grill over high heat, sprinkle it on toward the end of cooking, to prevent the flavors of the rub from carbonizing.

How do I season chicken?

Put your rub under the skin on chicken, so it can get to the meat.

I hope you find a new family favorite on this list. Click the photo for the recipe!
