CHOCOLATE POCKY HEART DECORATIONS

I made these hearts to decorate my Chocolate Layer Cake Recipe. They’re super easy to make but make a big impact on a simple layer cake.

Chocolate Pocky Hearts are very simple to make. You drizzle melted chocolate in a heart shape over a Pocky. Finally, decorate it with sprinkles. You can find Pocky Biscuit Sticks on the international aisle of almost any grocery store.

HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE POCKY HEARTS

  1. Spread out wax paper on the counter, draw hearts on the paper, and place a Pocky stick on each heart.
  2. Melt the chocolate.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate into a decorator bag or zip-top freezer bag.
  4. Snip the end off the bag and pipe the chocolate into a heart shape. Concentrate on covering the Pocky breadstick.
  5. Immediately scatter sprinkles over the hearts.
  6. Once dry, carefully turn the hearts over and repeat the chocolate drizzle on the back.
  7. Decorate your cake.

HEART OPTIONS

You can make dark chocolate hearts or pink or white. Wilton Candy Melts has a lot of colors.

As well, you could use pretzel sticks for smaller hearts. Pretzel sticks would be great for small hearts on cupcakes. However, the size of the hearts I made was heavy and the stick needed to go into the cake several inches to hold the heart upright. Therefore, I went with Pocky’s. (Plus, Pocky’s are really good to munch on.)

I had white sugar pearl sprinkles but you could use traditional multi-color sprinkles or shiny sugar. Have fun decorating your hearts.
