Strawberry Shortcake Twinkie is a super quick delicious dessert that starts with a Twinkie snack cake.

 Strawberry Shortcake

This is a great dessert to have children help you with or, heck, they can make the whole thing. It’s a fun activity for parties or any time you need a kid-friendly activity. As well, it doubles as a snack!

There’s one thing I learned having a picky eater is to get them involved in cooking. If they help make the recipe or meal, the more likely they will try it. I literally thing sometimes picky eaters just need to know what’s in their foods.

With kids in the kitchen, start small and simple. This may seem like a ‘silly’ recipe to you, but for kids it is a great way to start getting them in the kitchen. Remember, it takes baby steps to learn to cook.

Strawberry Shortcake Twinkie

This recipe is very simple and has just three ingredients

  1. Twinkie snack cakes
  2. Cool Whip
  3. Strawberries
  4. I sprinkled chopped Heathy bars on and around the dessert for the photograph.

The method is also easy. However, you can make it in a large 9×13-inch pan or in individual servings. Kids LOVE individual servings.

If children are helping you, depending on their age, you may want to slice the Twinkie and strawberries yourself. Usually, a butter knife will slice them.

You can substitute any berry for the strawberries. You may want to try blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, peaches, or whatever fruit is in season. For a fun Memorial Day dessert, try a red, white, and blue vibe with blueberries and raspberries or strawberries. How much fun will that be?!
