Big Daddy set a goal last January to lose 15 pounds. He met the goal in May and has been maintaining it even through our tailgating marathons this fall. How? you ask. There’s no magic pill. He started exercising and eating better.

I started baking, broiling, and grilling our protein a lot more. We also added fish to our menu at least once a week. One of our favorites is salmon. Luckily salmon is very nutritious seafood as well. One of our favorite ways to eat salmon is this Honey Glazed Wood Roasted Salmon.

I always get Morey’s brand seafood. We particularly like the Wood Roasted Atlantic Salmon. It comes in two 5 ounce portions with a wood-roasted marinade. It has a sweet, smoky taste.

Honey Glazed Wood Roasted Salmon goes from the refrigerator to the table in less than 30 minutes. Steam some vegetables or a side salad and you have a flavorful, nutritious, and quick meal.

It’s recommended to reach an internal temperature of 145° F for seafood. To test, place the thermometer in the thickest portion of cooked fish.

Salmon has amazing omega-3 benefits. It’s common for 4 ounces of baked or broiled salmon to contain at least 2 grams of omega-3 fats. This is more than the average U.S. adult gets from all food over the course of several days. These omega-3 benefits involve improved control of the body’s inflammatory processes, better overall cell function, improved transfer of information between the body’s cells, and better brain function. Furthermore, salmon is an excellent source of vitamin B12, vitamin D, and selenium. It is a good source of niacin, protein, phosphorus, vitamin B6, choline, pantothenic acid, biotin, and potassium. I read article after article that classifies salmon as a ‘superfood’.

We’ve also been trying to eat better and lose a few pounds. The last few weeks we’ve eaten salmon at least once and I’m running out of healthy ways to fix it! This is my solution – definitely trying this! It looks amazing!! Pinned!

  2. I love salmon. This is a most excellent way to prepare it. Made my mouth water!

  3. I love salmon, and this looks so delicious! I don’t get to make it very often though because only 2 of the 4 in my family will eat it. 😛 I need to go and pick some up just for me and baby girl. Who needs those picky guy eaters anyways? Lol! 😉

  4. Salmon is my favorite and I love finding new ways to make it! Morey’s Wood Roasted salmon looks so fresh and sounds amazing with the honey and spices! Can’t wait to try this! Pinning!

  5. This is fantastic! We cook salmon about once a week and I have three or four “go to” recipes I use often, I will have to add this to the rotation! I would have never thought to pair chili powder with salmon!
