Italian Sausage in Tomato Cream Sauce Pasta Tips

I’ve been really craving pasta lately, partially because it’s versatile and economical. Mostly, though, it’s because it’s quick. Most pasta recipes I share on callmepmc.com are ready in less than 30 minutes. Because really, who has much more time than to spend on dinner?

This pasta has a creamy tomato sauce that I’m particularly fond of. It’s creamy and tangy all at once. Add spicy Italian sausage, and this Italian Sausage Recipe is a very popular one. It’s easy enough for weeknight dinners but impressive enough for a supper club or entertaining!

  • Italian sausage mild
  • Onion, diced
  • garlic, minced
  • pasta uncooked
  • dry white wine or chicken broth
  • diced tomatoes with juice
  • heavy cream
  • dried parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, grated

Italian Sausage Cooking Tips

I used a mild Italian sausage in this recipe; you can get it hot if you prefer, but I don’t recommend the sweet Italian sausage.

You can also use gluten-free pasta, whole wheat pasta, or any shape pasta.

If you’re not a wine drinker or don’t want to open a bottle just for half a cup in this recipe, you can substitute chicken broth.

Grate parmesan cheese yourself. I don’t recommend the pre-shredded kind. Freshly grated parmesan is so much more flavorful and worth the extra effort.

I make sausage pasta often and have used quite a few different recipes. I have my favorites, but this one is now a favorite !!! The taste of this pasta is absolutely addicting. The white wine is what gives it that incredible taste “ I think.” Definitely going in my rotation of recipes.
