Orange Creamsicle Fluff with Cottage Cheese recipe is a family favorite fruit salad with Cool Whip, mandarine oranges, and marshmallows. This potluck favorite can be mixed together in just a few minutes with just can be made in advance with just a few pantry staples.

Ah, fluff. What would we do without the fluffy ‘salad’ on our holiday tables? Is it a dessert or a salad? 

Mandarin Orange Salad, Orange Fluff, Orange Fluff Jello Salad… what do you call it? Regardless of what you call it, regardless if you classify it as a dessert or salad, it seems everyone likes this recipe. As well, it seems everyone has some form of a ‘fluff salad’ for the holidays. 

I’ll admit, it’s hard to resist.

Orange Creamsicle Fluff with Cottage Cheese

ORANGE CREAMSICLE FLUFF WITH COTTAGE CHEESE

Like Watergate Salad this is a perpetual potluck dish and always goes fast at picnics, parties, and holidays events. You may also know this recipe as Jell-O Mandarin Orange Salad and Orange Fluff.

This recipe is so very simple to make and since it uses pantry and refrigerator staples you can easily get the ingredients any time of year.

Orange Creamsicle Fluff with Cottage Cheese

How to Make Orange Creamsicle Salad

  1. First, mix cottage cheese and orange Jello together in a large bowl.
  2. Next, add Cool Whip and stir.
  3. Set five mandarin oranges aside for garnish. Add in remaining mandarin oranges and stir. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  4. Finally, garnish with marshmallows or mandarin oranges before serving.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 2 cups Cool Whip
  • 3 ounce box orange Jello gelatin
  • 10.5 ounces mandarin oranges drained
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • ½ cup sweetened coconut flakes optional

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the cottage cheese, cool whip, and orange Jell-o gelatin mix.
  • Gently fold in the mandarin oranges, mini marshmallows, and coconut. (if you're adding coconut.)
  • Chill for at least one hour.

    Wow! This is delicious! I have made a very similar salad for years that uses strawberries. This is a perfect variation now that strawberries are out of season. My family loved it!
