Tomato Cream Sauce Sausage Gnocchi is a quick and easy weeknight meal that’s incredibly hearty and delicious. It also takes only about 15 minutes to make!
Little soft, juicy, pillowy gnocchi balls are coated in an extra creamy tomato sauce. If you’re a gnocchi lover, this recipe is for you!!
Tomato Cream Sauce Sausage Gnocchi
This recipe is outrageously easy to make. Plus, I adore gnocchi—pillowy, soft bites of potatoes with sausage, spicy cream, and tomato sauce.
Cooking gnocchi is just like cooking pasta. Gnocchi cooks quickly. Furthermore, it rises to the top of the water when done. How wonderful is that?
This recipe is very versatile.
- You can easily make this a vegetarian recipe and omit the sausage.
- You can add more or less cream to make it, well, more or less creamy. Or, should I say more or less tomatoey? Hmmm…
- If you can’t find or don’t like gnocchi, substitute pasta or tortellini instead.
What kind of gnocchi do I use?
You can use shelf-stable potato gnocchi, which I found in the pasta aisle of my grocery store. Alternatively, you can use refrigerated gnocchi. You can find refrigerated gnocchi with refrigerated fresh pasta in the grocery stores.

I’ve never had gnocchi and it’s one of the things on my list to try and make. I’m filing away this delicious tomato cream sauce to have with it when I do. But in the meantime, I have to tell you this was absolutely stupendous tossed with fettuccine. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Putting this on the menu next week. My family loves gnocchi and anything tomato cream. Thanks for the recipe!
Such a tasty recipe – so quick and easy. I left out the sausage in order to make it vegetarian, but otherwise followed the recipe as written. A keeper for quick meals.
