I love baking, and I love breakfast! And I love dessert. If you’ve ever had a pecan praline, that’s exactly what these muffins taste like. This is a play of that Southern treat. It’s like a praline has been melted into a muffin! They are dense and buttery, rich but not overly sweet.

I made mini-muffins and rolled them in sugar. This is two bites of pure bliss!

These are a lot like my Pecan Pie Muffins.

Praline Muffins Tips

  1. There is no baking powder or baking soda in these muffins. The eggs are the leavening agent.
  2. I added salt for taste. You can omit it if you prefer.
  3. You can use salted or unsalted butter. I always use salted, but it is a personal taste preference.
  4. This is a very thick batter.
  5. I used granulated sugar to roll the cooked muffin. You can omit it. As well, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin spice to the sugar.
