Hawaiian Roll Cinnamon Rolls (or Hawaiin Roll Cinnamon Buns whatever you want to call them.) are the bomb!

These Hawaiian Roll Cinnamon Rolls have been a favorite recipe from readers of Call Me PMc since I first published them way back in 2015. Yes, they were here before the TikTok viral videos, which actually brought them to the attention of more readers. I hope you enjoy my recipe!

The best thing about these rolls, the entire roll has the soft buttery texture of the inside of traditional cinnamon rolls.

Of all the foods in the world, cinnamon rolls are at the tippy top for me. A good cinnamon roll that is soft, fluffy, and sweet is truly my love language. However, I rarely make them from scratch. Mostly because I eat too many, but also traditional cinnamon rolls take a long time to make.

Y’all, I found a solution! Start with premade rolls! Slather those babies with cinnamon butter and you have yourself quick, easy, and amazing faux cinnamon rolls.

You may remember, I made a similar recipe using Sister Schubert rolls. Since they’re frozen, they take a little longer to cook. And, yes, I know Sister Schubert makes cinnamon rolls, but my grocer doesn’t always have them.

Quick Cinnamon Hawaiian Rolls

I used a 12-count package of Hawaiian rolls, but you can use any premade, precooked roll. However, I like the King’s Hawaiian rolls best because they have a subtly sweet and light texture.

You can easily double or triple this recipe.

I always, always use real butter. No margarine, ever. As well, I recommend real butter for this recipe.

For the drizzle!

These rolls are pretty sweet without the glaze, but, come on, they’re cinnamon rolls and cinnamon rolls have icing.

I mixed powdered sugar and heavy whipping cream for the glaze. For my 12-count rolls, I used 3 cups of sifted powdered sugar and three to four tablespoons of heavy whipping cream. Sifting the powdered sugar is necessary, otherwise, you’ll have lumps that are impossible to whisk out. I much prefer heavy whipping cream over whole milk for a glaze. It’s creamier and, frankly, tastes better in my opinion. However, if you don’t have heavy whipping cream use whole milk and add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Another option is cream cheese glaze or frosting. Cream cheese glaze has the same ingredients as a cream cheese frosting but with more milk to make it thinner.

Can I add nuts to the Kings Hawaiian Cinnamon Roll Sliders?

Yes, absolutely. You can add pecan, walnuts, or any nut to either the cinnamon mixture in the middle of the rolls or to the top. You can actually add nuts to both!
I recommend adding one cup chopped pecans to the cinnamon butter mixture in the center of the rolls.

Can I double the 15 Minute Cinnamon Rolls?

Yes, the recipe can easily be doubled or tripled. If you notice in my recipe card where ‘servings’ is displayed, you can +/- that to adjust the servings you want to make.

I can’t find King’s Hawaiian rolls, can I use another type?

Yes, you can use any rolls. King’s Hawaiian are perfect because they’re slightly sweet. I used toll house rolls before. Any dinner roll will work especially if you don’t like really sweet food. Obviously, don’t use rolls with rosemary, onions, or garlic in them.

    1. You can make up to the point of baking but don’t bake and cover air-tightly and refrigerate. Then bake when you’re ready – they donn’t take long to heat through.

After making these I don’t think I’ll ever make regular cinnamon rolls ever again!! They taste like donuts 🥰

We are huge, cinnamon roll and Kings Hawaiian bread, lovers, in our family so this recipe was right up our alley. It took no time at all to make. The house smelled so good of cinnamon! I did not have heavy whipping cream, so I used half-and-half with a little vanilla , and it turned out just fine. Having a brunch this coming weekend for Labor Day and I will be making more but I’m going to put raisins in some of them. Very yummy. Thanks!

These are delicious! Just made them for the 2nd time. However, I didn’t sift the powder sugar this time. The flavor is still delicious but the consistency is very heavy and brown. When sifted it was a thin white glaze, which looks much better. I did add pecans this time, which I will continue to do, as well as sifting the powder sugar.

I haven’t tried it yet but I noticed the pan grew from a 9×13 to a 9×14 after you buttered it. Probably the same will happen to me after I eat them.

I would add ground or finely chopped pecans. In the middle. Plus in the glaze. I gotta try these sounds absolutely awesome and so simple to make.

  7. Oh my word!!! These were sooooo amazing! I try to watch the amounts of sweets that I eat, but I could not control myself. I ate way more then I should have. Could not be easier. Will definitely be making these again.
I baked mine in a 7×11 in. Pan and also only used half of the glaze and was plenty.
