Festive Christmas Margarita Recipe

After a million cookie recipes (ok it seems that way to me) and breakfast casserole recipes, I thought I change it up a bit and give you another festive holiday recipe. A cocktail! Because, goodness, don’t we need a cocktail, or two, this time of year!

Although this cranberry margarita is a great addition to your Thanksgiving or Christmas menu, it’s good all year.

Actually, I think the addition of tart cranberry juice is the perfect complement to a basic margarita. And, doesn’t it look bright and cheery? This Christmas cocktail is fun!

Mix it up!

Also, there are a couple of ways you can change this recipe. Cranberry juice or pomegranate juice can be used. I’ve tried them both and they’re both good. In fact, depending on the brands you get, they taste very similar.

Of course, you can always adjust the ratios. I tend to like more lime and less orange liqueur than most people. Therefore, alter it to your tastes.

Finally, I like to add some fizz to my margaritas. I like to add a diet tonic or diet club soda. Alternatively, you can add the regular version of those.

For your Festive Christmas Margarita garnish

This is the fun part. Make it pretty! You can garnish the Christmas Margarita glass with salt or sugar. As well, add a lime and/or orange wedge or wheel to the glass or the rim. If you use cranberry juice, add fresh cranberries to the glass or to a wooden pick. Cheers!🍹

Furthermore, who wants to be stuck bartending all night? Very few, am I right? That’s why I made the recipe card versatile. See the serving size on the card? You can adjust that for how many you want to make. Therefore, you can make Christmas Margarita Punch and have them self-serve in a punch bowl or have a Christmas Margarita pitcher. Yes, now, everyone gets to enjoy the party!

    1. You can add as much or little as you want. I usually fill the glass 2/3 full then top it the rest of the way with tonic when I want a little fizz.
